Directed and adapted for film by Kai Peacock, based on original stage script by Duncan Kidd.
The project was inspired and based on the ideas, views, opinions and experiences of a troupe of young people who attended a number of upskilling and development sessions on risk taking behaviours. Professional writers, directors and young actors were engaged to bring the new play together.

The Trust Me schools theatre tour toured to 28 local authorities in Scotland, with over 120 performances, to an audience of young people that exceeds 20,000.

Wasted
written by Duncan Kidd and Directed by Steve Small.
In collaboration with Fast Forward and Strange Town.
Wasted was originally funded and developed as part of the Young Start funded ‘Fast Forward and Play 2’ project, and went on a short tour to the SPEN National conference and 6 High Schools in Edinburgh, in 2018.
In 2019 Wasted was reworked into a ‘four hander’ and toured to 32 Highs Schools across the Lothians and the City of Edinburgh.
The play is set in a house party and poses questions and raises awareness on alcohol and the responsibility for yourself and your friends. The 32 date tour was funded by Scottish Whisky Action Fund.

The Tea play explores, poses questions and raises the awareness of sexual health, relationships, body image and consent and is funded by Youth Borders and NHS Borders. The play has toured the 9 high schools and academies in the Scottish Borders for 4 consecutive years between 2015-2019. It reached an audience number of 12423 people.
The Tea Play was written by Kai Peacock and the original company, James MacIvor, Mark O'Neil and Felicity.
Along with this, the Tea Play has also been performed to year groups at Mary Erskine's and Stewart Melville College.
The Tea play was also an essential part of the Festival of Fast Forward which took place at the Traverse Theatre in May 2018.
Balisong
Written by Jenifer Adam & directed by Steve Small & Kai Peacock
The Scottish Schools theatre tour and film was funded by NKBL (No Knives Better Lives), produced by Fast Forward.
Balisong toured for 3 consecutive years, and at its last performance in November 2019 was a live screening of the performance to over 80 High Schools and Academies in Scotland. Over the three years of the Balisong school’s theatre project the play has been performed 234 times in 220 high schools and academies in Scotland, and has been seen by around 44,000 young people.
The aim of the project is to promote the bystander approach that empowers young people to know what to do if they are aware that someone is carrying a knife or bladed weapon. The project was funded by No Knives Better Lives (NKBL & YouthLink Scotland). Produced and delivered by Fast Forwards Arts and Theatre project manager Kai Peacock.
Over the 3 years of the tour nine young actors, three stage managers, one animator and one voice over artist have been employed.
Balisong was nominated for partnership Herald award.

The series of six Jimmy the Bear Grillz films
was funded by NHS Borders and Youth Borders, as a follow on and legacy from the tea play. These short and snappy films explore the character of Jimmy and his misuse and understanding of contraceptives and the c card. for more info on how to get access to this series please contact us on the contacts page.
A series of workshops and upskilling sessions covering a range of subjects and topics to equip the young attendees with the knowledge and information to produce written pieces and performed and filmed by a cohort of young actors, performers and theatre makers. The pieces were then toured to youth work environments in Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders.
